How to put multiple videos in one Instagram Story
Select several videos for your Story and Instagram posts them one after another, as separate stories. That works for a recap, but not when you want them on screen together — side by side, in a grid or as a before-and-after. Here's what Instagram can do on its own and how to get several videos into one Story frame.
What Instagram can do on its own
- Several videos, one after another: select multiple videos when you add to your Story — each becomes its own story, in the order you picked them.
- A photo grid: Layout in the Stories camera splits one story into several photo frames.
- A long video: one story plays up to 60 seconds, and Instagram splits a longer video into several stories automatically.
- Several videos playing at once in one frame: that's the job of a collage app — the steps are below.
Step by step
Start a 9:16 project
Open Video Grid Collage (free on the App Store). On the start screen, find the Instagram row and tap Reels — Stories use the same 9:16 frame.
Add your videos
Choose two or more videos from your library — up to 9 play at once. The grid fills itself; try other arrangements under Grid → Layout.
Sync and trim
Trim each clip on the timeline so the best moments play together. Keep the whole collage under 60 seconds so it fits in one story.
Keep the edges clear
Your profile name covers the top of a story and the reply bar covers the bottom, so keep faces and text away from both. Add a title with Text if you like.
Post it to your Story
Export in high quality, then in Instagram tap +, choose Story and pick the video. Add music, stickers or a link as usual.
Ideas for multi-video Stories
- Before and after side by side — a haircut, a room makeover, a workout.
- The day's best moments in a 2×2 grid instead of four separate stories.
- Your reaction next to the original clip.
- Mix photos and videos in one grid — the photos stay on screen while the clips play.
