How to make a photo and video collage on iPhone

Your best moments aren't all videos. A birthday, a trip or a year in review usually lives in a mix of photos and clips — and a collage that combines both tells the whole story in one frame. Video Grid Collage treats photos and videos the same: drop them into any layout and export one video.

You'll need: an iPhone (iOS 18+) · the free Video Grid Collage app · ~5 minutes

Step by step

01

Pick a template

Open Video Grid Collage (free) and choose a layout on the start screen: vertical for Reels and TikTok, square or landscape.

02

Add photos and videos

Tap Insert → Collage → Image or Video and pick any mix of photos and clips from your library, or from Files.

03

Arrange the grid

Try other layouts under Grid → Layout and swap items between cells until the story flows.

04

Bring the photos to life

Select a photo and add an Animation — a slow zoom or a slide — so it moves along with the videos.

05

Add music and text

Insert a song with Insert → Audio and a title with Text.

06

Export

Export one video up to 4K, ready for Reels, TikTok, Stories or the family chat.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put photos and videos in the same collage?
Yes. Any cell can hold a photo or a video, and photos also work as overlays or as the background.
Is the result a video or a picture?
A video. Photos stay on screen while the clips play, and the whole collage exports as one video file.
How many photos and videos can I add?
Up to 9 cells in one layout, and each cell can hold a sequence of clips on the timeline — up to 100 in one grid.
