How to put a picture on a video on iPhone
A logo in the corner, a photo that pops up for a few seconds, a cut-out product floating over your footage — putting a picture on a video is one of the most common edits, and the Photos app can't do it. Video Grid Collage adds any photo on top of any clip, and you decide where it sits, how big it is and when it shows.
Step by step
Open the video
In Video Grid Collage (free on the App Store), tap + on the start screen, choose Image or Video and pick your video. If it fills only the top half of the screen, tap Grid → Layout and choose the first layout — a single frame.
Insert the picture
Tap Insert → Overlay → Image or Video and pick a photo, or choose Files for a logo saved there. PNG images keep their transparent background.
Move, resize and rotate it
Drag the picture into place — guide lines help it snap to the edges and the center. Pinch to resize it and turn it with two fingers to rotate.
Choose when it shows
The picture gets its own row on the timeline and shows for the first 5 seconds. Drag the ends of its bar to set when it appears and disappears, or long-press the bar to move it.
Style it
Select the picture to round its Corners, add a Border, make it see-through with Adjust → Opacity, cut out the subject with Remove BG or make it pop in with Animation.
Export
Export in up to 4K. The picture becomes part of the video, so it shows on every platform.
Tips for pictures on video
- For a logo or watermark, use a PNG with a transparent background and lower its Opacity a little so it doesn't distract.
- Keep pictures away from the bottom and right edges on TikTok, Reels and Shorts — captions and buttons cover them.
- A photo shows for 5 seconds by default. If your video is shorter, trim the picture's bar, or the export gets longer than the video.
- Add several pictures — each gets its own row on the timeline, so they can appear one after another.
