How to mirror, flip or rotate a video on iPhone
Selfie videos come out mirrored, text in the background reads backwards, and some clips end up sideways. Video Grid Collage fixes all of that with its Transforms tools — and because they work per clip, you can mirror one video in a collage and leave the others as they are.
Step by step
Open the video
In Video Grid Collage (free on the App Store), tap + on the start screen, choose Image or Video and pick your clip.
Select it and tap Transforms
Tap the video on the timeline, then Transforms.
Mirror it left to right
Tap Flip to swap left and right, like a mirror image. This fixes selfie videos where text reads backwards.
Turn it upside down
Tap Mirror to flip the clip vertically.
Rotate it
Tap Rotate and choose 90°, 180° or 270° until the clip is upright. Reset undoes all transforms.
Export
Pick the frame shape under Aspect — a rotated clip often needs 16:9 instead of 9:16 — and export.
When to mirror, flip or rotate
- Un-mirror selfie footage before you add text or show signs — viewers notice reversed letters instantly.
- In a side-by-side collage, mirror one clip so both people face each other. Duets and comparisons feel more connected.
- For a kaleidoscope look, put the same clip into four cells and mirror two of them.
- Straighten sideways clips first, before you style corners, borders and spacing.
